Rit Xu(长笛)和Jonathan Ngeow(阮)是他们在南洋美术学院(NAFA)学习期间的同学。在新加坡中华交响乐团“冉冉升起的二重奏”音乐会中，两人将演奏独奏曲，并将演奏雅克·伊贝尔的经典长笛作品《长笛协奏曲》和王晨伟的《阮可博亚》。音乐会将由上海合作组织驻场指挥郭令强执导。国家一级管弦乐团邀请当地青年演奏家担任指挥的情况并不多见。借此机会，《联合早报》邀请32岁的同学们分享他们对音乐风格和表演者的看法，同时也谈谈他们对音乐事业的抱负。当被问及如何找到继续前进的动力时，徐提到，他们必须被梦想所驱动。Ngeow回答说，在NAFA，他们四处奔波，带着面对未知未来的感觉前进。徐回答说，目标和抱负必须来自内心。一些人在成为职业演员后误入歧途。如果没有竞争，没有学院那样的环境，就很难改善。

 

Rit Xu (Flute) and Jonathan Ngeow (Ruan) were classmates during their studies at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). At the Singapore Chinese Orchestra’s (SCO) “The Rising Duo” concert, the two will play solo pieces and also present Jacques Ibel's classic flute work "Flute Concerto" and "Ruan Keboya" by local composer Wang Chenwei. The concert will be directed by Quek Ling Kiong, the Resident Conductor of the SCO. It is rare that a national-level orchestra invites local young performers to take the lead. Taking this opportunity, Lianhe Zaobao invites the 32-year-old classmates to share their views on their music styles and the perception of performers, while also speaking to them about their aspirations for their music careers. When asked on how they can find the motivation to keep going, Xu mentions that they must be driven by a dream. Ngeow answers that at NAFA, they were rushing around and moving forward with the feeling of facing an unknown future. Xu then replies that the goals and aspirations must come from within. Some stray after becoming professional performers. If there was no competition and no suitable environment such as that of the academy, it would be hard to improve.
